BLIND OWL ↔ BLINDE EULE
A haunting dance-theatre work about the fragility of identity, memory, and perception. Inspired by Sadegh Hedayat’s cult novel The Blind Owl, the production unfolds a densely atmospheric stage world of dance, music, and video projections—sensual, unsettling, and deeply political.
At its center is an unnamed narrator whose sense of self fragments into different characters and states of consciousness. A young woman and an old man emerge as reflections of his inner turmoil. The female figure becomes a projection screen for male desires, fears, and fantasies of power. Reality, dreams, memories, and hallucinations continuously overlap and dissolve into one another.
From a feminist perspective, the production challenges patriarchal imagery and phallocentric narrative structures. It invites audiences to rethink perception, the body, and identity beyond fixed gender roles and singular notions of reality.
